This past Saturday, volunteers worked vigorously to complete the last item on the task list: landscaping. These volunteers from the surrounding community included future Habitat homeowners and current Duke students. To complete the landscaping, volunteers planted four 50 lb trees on the right side of the house and five shrubs on each side of the house. As the final step, grass seeds, lime pellets, and pine straw were sprinkled all around the front and back yard. During the week, the flooring and carpet are to be installed to complete the final touches prior to inspection.
